About PetCompli
What is PetCompli?
PetCompli is web software for UK businesses that sell animals as pets. It keeps the animal register, daily checks, cleaning schedules, policies, training records and evidence in one place, mapped to the licence conditions, so the records are ready for inspection.
Who is it for?
Independent pet shops, aquatic and reptile specialists, garden centres with a pet department and multi-site groups. Local authority licensing officers can be given read-only access to a licensed site.
Does PetCompli replace my licence or guarantee a star rating?
No. Your local authority licenses and rates you. PetCompli helps you meet the conditions consistently and prove it with organised records, which is what the rating is based on.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Daily checks and cleaning records are designed to be done on a phone or tablet in front of the enclosure, with photos.
Is it available in Welsh?
Yes. The app and this website are available in English and Welsh, and more languages can be added.
Getting started
How do I sign in?
There are no passwords. You sign in with a link sent to your email, a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint or a security key), or Sign in with Apple.
Can I bring in my existing records?
Yes. We help you import your animal register and upload your current policies and procedures as the first version, so your history starts from day one.
How long does setup take?
A single shop is usually set up in an afternoon: sites, housing systems, species, your procedures and the check schedules.
What does it cost?
Pricing is per site per month, with a free trial and no long contract. and we’ll talk you through the options for your size of business.
Records and inspections
Can my licensing officer see my records?
If you choose to, you can give your local authority officer read-only access to a site. They see the same live records you do, with the audit trail, and nothing can be changed from their view.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Paper backup sheets are available for every check from the free templates, and records can be entered afterwards with the actual time noted in the audit trail.
How long are records kept?
Indefinitely while you are a customer. The regulations require three years; PetCompli keeps every version of every record and every policy, with who changed what and when.
Where is my data stored?
In a data centre in the European Union, backed up daily to a separate location. See the privacy notice for details.
